Knowledge is power, we all have heard this at least once somewhere. On this photograph I wanted to feature the influence of many of us, the food of our brains, the knowledge we desire. I wanted to give the illusion of books being magical (which they are). The internet has giving us so much knowledge as well and is so accessible, we have a question, we just take our smartphones out and ask Mr. Google. Knowledge has turn ordinary men into wise men, knowledge has given the human race the ability to be civilized and most importantly the ability to survive in this cruel world. Knowledge created this photo.

Capturing My Feelings And Senses.
Today in age everybody wants to be a photographer, with the ease of our mobile phones and plethora of quick editing tools and apps everybody becomes a pretty decent one (or at least that's what my brain tells me I am). On this blog I try to explain my feeling behind each and every photo I have taken. Maybe I will evoke you to remember what your feelings and senses were behind the viewfinder.

Mysterious
Years ago I came upon this video of a little innocent looking girl (watch here) in a mirror. It seemed like she was just being goofy playing with her hair and smiling at the mirror. When she turned her back to the mirror and looked straight at the camera her reflection stayed paused for a second and then her face turned black and evil. More than scary I though this was so cool and mysterious so I decided to copycat with a photo instead of a video and the results are very intriguing. I posted this on my photography facebook page and it was a hit. It probably took me about eight shots to get this photo as perfect as I wanted it. This is the results of feeling mysterious. What do you think of the image?

Nostalgic.
All day long I was thinking about "Street Fighter" while in grade school, that was the only and best way to interact with my brothers. I'm the youngest in my family of six including my parents, so everything "Hugo" wanted "Hugo" got, so my brothers had a little hate on me. My parents are the hard working "we have to keep hip for our kids" parents, so they bought us the nintendo console. I was maybe 10 or 11 years old when I was mesmerized by a plastic square called "Nintendo." One of the best and ultimately my favorite game was "Street Fighter" my brothers and I played for hours, maybe days! As time passed by I became the best and arguably the only one that could beat anybody on that game. So now as a 30 year old man I thought why not create one of my best moves on "Street Fighter" the "hadoken" move to eliminate once and for all the debate of who was the best of my brothers and I. So here it is this amazing photo in one shot with my beautiful girlfriend.

CREATIVE.
The exact moment of a great idea, that urge you get when you think of something great, maybe an invention or a poem and you just have to write it down because you are scared your idea will vanish into your home’s venting system. Those are the moments that separate ordinary men from extraordinary. All it takes is one great moment one great thought a split second and then magic conquers your brain and you get up and make it happen! For this photograph I felt that great idea I felt the urge to get creative and shoot something out of the ordinary, something that seems unreal, perhaps fictitious. But how would we know if when we sleep our muscles become paralyzed and our brain is almost in a comatose state. “CREATIVE"

Photograph Your Feelings
So as we all know life is a "w"itch at times, but mostly life is beautiful just give it a chance. Each time that I have felt angry, sad, happy, excited, scared or just felt that urge to go out there and save the world I have taken a photo.
Lets begin with the time I was feeling angry, Angry at the world because my grandmother had just past away and I wasn't understanding why she had to suffer so much before she died, I was asking "why her, what did she ever do to deserve this much pain?!!" My Photographs don't resemble how I was feeling at the moment, the feeling (angry) just gave me a boost to create beauty from anger. This is the result from my "ANGER."

The feeling of "loneliness" is a very sad feeling, I was feeling sad that my family was so far away and it was my birthday that weekend, with friends having families and lives of their own it makes it very difficult to just show up and say "hey lets go out and celebrate my birthday." My brother lives on the same city as me but he was out that weekend for business. Feeling like I was the only soul alive that weekend even though there was people around me, I decided to grab my gear and my loyal friend (my camera) and go out and photograph life. This is the result of "SAD."

Does a smile need an explanation, does happiness need an introduction? The story of us didn't start as an accident, it was not a plan created by me or any human for that matter, the story of us was written before June 5 1982. It was created for the sole purpose of pure love, it was created by something greater than us, greater than life itself, it was created my our creator, our God. I met my beautiful girlfriend (Ruth) on December 2012 it was pure magic, pure love nectar. My life started when she smiled at me, my heart flatlined when she said "good morning" just bringing it back to a beat when we interlocked our eyes. From that day forward I have being alive. This is the result of "US" (Love).

PHOTOGRAPHY AND YOUR SENSES
What makes a good photo? What makes a photo standout from the millions of them already floating on the web? Well my philosophy is that anything you see, smell, taste, feel, and hear is worth a photograph and what makes it good is "YOU" (me). For example I shoot my photographs from different angles not just from a standing position and straight on, I try to shoot my photos in different positions, in one knee, laying on my stomach, leaning on something or somebody (usually a family member lol) but I always take about 10 to 15 photos of the same subject then go over the results on my computer and pick the "keepers."
Like the following photo, I was outside my brother's house and saw some red sneakers in the trash which was a perfect subject. Title "Piece of Trash"

How about this following one, that while in my kitchen I got a brief whiff of citrus (maybe it was the lingering pleasant odor of the lemons that I used earlier to make some lemonade). So I got one of them decided to put a coat and a hat on and just take a photo (actually I took several) Titled it "Disregard"

I do not smoke but I had always wondered how a cigarette or a cigar tastes, what is the after taste or how does the smoke feel in your mouth. It's so easy to just go ask my sister or my brother for a cigarette (they both smoke) but I decided not to try one so I took my camera out and took a photo of my sister smoking. So I live in Dallas Texas and our Summers are scorching hot, scorching hot (you get my point on "scorching" hot). It was a Saturday evening middle of August and not wanting to go out to go take some photographs for the fear of melting into the pavement with the 110 degree day we were having, but got inspiration from my brand new DSLR I bought earlier that week and decided to go out there anyway. I was feeling the sun burning every single one of my pores but I put that camera on my tripod and shot this one. Title "We Are So Much Alike"

Traffic in Dallas! Rush Hour is a beast, if you are lucky you will get home in about an hour or two depending where you live and how you drive (road rage guilty). Noisy is an understatement for rush hour is just so annoying more when you suffer from migraines like I do. So one night I decided to go to the same freeway (highway 75) where I spend hours and had said so many bad words and flipped so many people and try to figure out a nice photo for the highway that had giving me white hairs (so dramatic) but is true. I wanted for "noise" to be heard through my photograph and this is the result. Title "Streaks of Zoom"
(Hear)
Photography and my senses "you" make a photograph stand out all you have to do is see, smell, taste, feel, and hear and you will create what you imagination envisions.
